Promotion of Access to Infromation Act
The Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 gives third parties the right to approach private bodies and the Government and request information held by them, which is needed in the exercise or protection of any rights.
In a nutshell, the Act
- Provides one set of rules for all credit activities
- Aims to prevent reckless lending, over-indebtedness and unfavourable lending practices
- Establishes new and improved rights for credit consumers
